Looking for solutions on starting or running a successful small business?
The Small Business Development Center of Renton (SBDC-Renton), located at Renton
Technical College, is here to help you find those solutions. We help
business owners to start new companies; develop loan packages; connect with
customers; forecast sales, profit, cash flow; grow their business; and improve
HR systems.
The Renton SBDC is being established through a partnership among Renton Technical College (RTC), the Renton Chamber of Commerce, the City of Renton, and additional direct support from First Savings Bank and Frontier Bank. Business advisor services will be provided through a contract with the well-established SBDC at Highline Community College. The Renton SBDC will help strengthen Renton’s economic vitality by providing one-on-one confidential assistance to individuals, small businesses, and other entrepreneurs at no charge. Programs will provide practical, real-life solutions and will be taught by experienced business people.
SBDC-Renton is a local resource for research, resource and technical assistance for small business owners and entrepreneurs in southwest King County, Washington. The SBDC-Renton offers free one-on-one confidential counseling as well.
It is the mission of SBDC-Renton to help local business owners succeed, make successful businesses, which in turn, supports and strengthens the local business community and stimulates regional economic growth.
Business Development Specialist, Mr. Jim Kallenberg, provides:
- Confidential, person-to-person counseling
- Help to small business owners in planning, marketing, and analyzing
financial data.
- Assistance with starting new business and expanding, stabilizing, selling
or buying a business venture.
- Services FREE of charge.

works together with clients to fulfill their unique business needs. Jim has over
25 years of experience in the fields of construction management, food and cold
storage facilities design, and business management and international sales. This
includes both startup and mature business environments with both large and small
firms. He has business ownership experience and has performed many management
roles: project manager, financial manager, business owner and general manager. Jim has expertise in project management, product development, building
design, international food and equipment sales and trading, internet marketing,
tradeshow management, marketing, executive recruiting, and working with entrepreneurs.
